INVESTIGATION:
On
receipt of confidential information about minor victims being forced to
serve as prostitutes in brothels from informers, our own investigators,
past victims or missing complaints, our staff members visit the brothels
posing as clients, approach one of the girls and counsel her to
co-operate with us during a raid.
Such counseling requires four to five visits to the same brothel spread
over in such a way that the visit is limited to once a week so that the
brothel keeper does not become suspicious. Thus once we identify minor
girl in a particular brothel, we conduct a raid with the help of police.
Apart from minor girls prohibited by law, major girls
are also rescued by us.
RESCUE:
This involves raiding the brothel with the help of police. To start
with, co-ordination with police requires utmost care on our part
as sometimes even police are corrupt at the lower level and they
pass on the information about the raid to the brothel keepers thereby
girls are hidden, quite often in hidden cells, by the brothel
keeper. This problem has been solved by us by keeping the time,
date and venue secret until the very last moment even in Rescue
Foundation. Our president Mrs. Acharya herself along with
one of our probation officer conducts the raid.
Immediately after the raid, the girls/women have to be counseled
intimately and transferred to our protective home under court's orders.
